Second Friday-night EPCOT of the pass year — and a better plan than the last one. MercyMe was playing Eat to the Beat. Sarah wanted the concert. We booked a real table instead of grinding Food & Wine booths. Knup 7.6 for the night — ahead of our Food & Wine graze (6.3).

The park was packed. Warm. Food & Wine still drawing crowds. MercyMe brought its own swarm. Friday night at EPCOT just feels like that.

Dinner first. Missed the tram again — we never catch it here — and walked hard to France for a 5:00 reservation at Chefs de France. Got there about 5:10; they sat us fast. Window table, French hospitality, Boeuf Bourguignon and shrimp. That meal was the night. Knup 9.0.

After dinner we walked to Mexico for Gran Fiesta Tour — the slow Three Caballeros boat. Sarah loves it. AC, gentle, a little romantic. Fine. Not a re-ride for me. Knup 6.8.

Then back toward MercyMe. People everywhere. Lines everywhere. No seats. Hot and claustrophobic. They will not let you stand in the aisle — fair — so we stood way back where some building AC was blowing and just listened. Maybe thirty minutes. Five or six songs. We never really saw the stage. We did catch “I Can Only Imagine,” which was the one we wanted. That was enough.

To finish the French night we ducked into Impressions de France — Sarah’s first time. Big wraparound film through the countryside and into Paris. Cultural, seated, cool, not busy. Exactly the opposite of the concert crush. Knup 7.6.

We did not touch Food & Wine booths. Lines were huge again and we already had dinner. Walked out after the film.

Knup 7.6 / 10 for the trip. Still a busy Friday. Still hot. Still too many people for a free outdoor concert seat. But a real restaurant, two calm attractions, and a clearer plan beat grazing the festival for dinner. That is the lesson from the last EPCOT night.

The day in bullets

  • Friday evening for MercyMe (Eat to the Beat) — Sarah’s pick.
  • Missed the tram again; walked hard across World Showcase to France for a 5:00 reservation.

  • MercyMe: park packed, no seats, stood way back under AC from a building — heard ~30 minutes including “I Can Only Imagine,” never really saw the stage.
  • France again: Impressions de France — Sarah’s first time. Knup 7.6.
  • Out after that. Shorter, better night than the full Food & Wine loop.
