What it was

Cappers Lounge was a sports handicapping forum I purchased and rebuilt. Forums were still a real distribution channel then: picks, arguments, reputations, and a reason to come back daily.

Rebuilding someone else’s community is a specific kind of work. You inherit culture, spam, and expectations. You also inherit an audience you did not have to manufacture from Google.

Why it existed

I wanted a live betting community without starting the cold-start problem from zero. Buying a forum was a faster path to conversation than launching another blog.

Retired. The forum era ended; the lesson about community versus content stayed.
