What it was

Link Bidding was LinkBidding.com in 2007 — an early internet-marketing experiment around bidding for SEO-friendly link placement on a small set of pages.

The design was awful. Payment integration was terrible. It did not gain traction. But the idea — pay to hold rank on a board — never fully left.

Timeline snapshot

  • 2026: Maxing picks up the thread at maxing.lol after the outbid.lol wave.

Why it existed

If you were doing internet marketing then, you were thinking about links. I wanted a product in the middle of that market instead of only being a buyer.

Where it is now

Retired in 2007. The same itch came back in 2026 as Maxing at maxing.lol — full circle, better stack, same experiment.
